Dear janis
PSNR is one method to find the objective quality of the given input
sequence and the re-constructed sequence after encoding and decoding.
The signal to noise ratio depends on the perfect match of your motion
estimation algorithm and SAD / MAD or MSE are the merit values to
determine the matching of the signal.
So the current block comparision with original or reconstructed
signal will depend on the quantization of the signal.
The reference picture taken to be reconstructed picture will help
to nullify the error due to the compression at receiving end.
