[Mp4-tech] H.264/AVC

Hi,
I would like to know if the H.264/AVC (MPEG-4 Part 10) allows using the same principles of spatial scalability known from the existing standards such as MPEG-2 for high bit rate. Generating two spatial resolution video layers from a single video source such that the lower layer is coded by itself to provides the SDTV bitstream and the enhancement layer employs the spatially interpolated lower layer to provides the HDTV signal.
