[Mp4-tech] help w dct

[M R]

I'm looking for a document or someone who can help me
understand the basics of what the DCT does. All I can
find is the mathamatical explinations. I need to see a
picture in my mind of what it is doing to the data
before I can deal with the math. Could anyone point me
in the right direction please? BTW I'm decent with
math and electronics and I understand waves and
signals but i'm not sure what this transfrom is doing.
