[Mp4-tech] AVC over IP

Hi all,
is there a way to determine which frame type is contained in a ip packet?
My experiment is to resend I-frame packets. I've been able to do this with
MPEG-2 (by reading the RTP headers) but it is not immediately clear for me
how I can realize this for AVC.
Am I correct that one or more NAL units are contained in one packet?
Does the RTP header  (extension for AVC) define which frame type is in the
RTP packet?
