5th Multimedia Metadata Community Workshop
Introduction & Topics
The Multimedia Metadata Community aims at bringing together
experts from
research and industry in the area of multimedia meta data
interoperability for
collaborative working environments. By establishing a community of
professionals
it is intended to bridge the gap between an academic research and an
industrial
scale development of innovative products for natural collaboration,
with a
strong focus on MPEG-7 & MPEG-21.
In the line of these goals, the 5th Multimedia Metadata Community
Workshop takes
place during the 6th International Conference on Knowledge
Management, the I
-Know 06, 6-9th September 2006, Graz Austria, which focuses on
applications and
experience reports of multimedia metadata standards in industry and
research.
Topics of such applications and experience reports include, but are not
limited
to
* Multimedia and Web 2.0
* Multimedia Analysis and Retrieval
* Content Adaptation and Personalization
* Learning and Multimedia
* Semantic and Knowledge in Multimedia
* Mobile Multimedia and Digital Television
* Multimedia Interoperability
* Multimedia Standards and Related Issues
* Multimedia Metadata Standards Crosswalking
Submissions should focus on scientific as well as practical aspects
of above
topics. Accepted submissions will be presented at the MMC Workshop on
Thursday
7th September 2006 in Graz Austria.
Target Group
The topics mentioned above are addressed at researchers and developers
as well
as at innovative practitioners and providers in the fields of
multimedia. The
workshop will be held in English.
Submission Details
Submissions should be handed in as full papers and should not exceed
6 pages.
Please use the I-KNOW style guides and submit your contribution in
PDF or MS
Word format using http://www.i-know.at/chairhelper/mmcws06/submission .
Authors
should submit original contributions, that have not been
published at or
submitted to other conferences or journals. In case of problems or
questions
concerning the submission of papers, please contact the track
chairs at
mmcw06 know-center.at.
Publication
Accepted papers will be published within the I-KNOW 06 conference
proceedings in
cooperation with Springer Co. Pub. Papers must present previously
unpublished,
original results. At least one author of an accepted paper must
register for I
-KNOW '06 before the deadline for Final Versions (26 June 2023).

* Final version of accepted papers: Mon 26th June 2006
* Paper Presentation: Thursday 7th September 2006
